Books - July 2019

It was a pretty stressed out month that passed. I tried to avoid my regular category of books and consumed more Fiction than normal.

The Kiss Quotient

by Helen Hoang

The Kiss Quotient follows Stella, an autistic woman who hires an escort in order to explore intimacy with other people. From her past relationships, she learned that she is bad at sex and social interactions. She is a data scientist working in a top level position, making good amount of money. Michael, who Stella hires, is working as a part-time escort, to pay his mother's medical bills.

In the initial chapters, I thought this book is a gender reversed Fifty Shades. But unlike Fifty Shades, this book is more about the relationship than sex. That doesn't mean that this book doesn't have steamy moments.

Rating: 3/5

Easy Money

by Vivek Kaul

This book explains the history of money and the financial system as it has evolved over the centuries. I started the book and left it midway. Will come back to this later sometime.

Crazy Rich Asians

by Kevin Kwan

The book behind a popular 2018 Hollywood film. I thought about reading this, when I came to know that there are 3 books in the series.

It is centered around Rachel Chu and her boyfriend Nicholas Young visiting Singapore to attend Nocholas's best friend's wedding. Rachel doesn't know that Nicholas's family is crazy rich.

The book is a fast page turner and it was really fun to read.
